Description
Barry, my co-worker and former head of the animation department is retiring so I made him this card. Originally I was going to try to do it in the style of an actual Hallmark card, but when I started finding reference most of it was pretty badly done illustrations. Kind of makes me wonder how the card industry is so successful when the majority of the style is like that, or maybe I was just having rotten luck finding reference photos. Maybe it really is all about the punchline rather than the skill of the art on the card?
Anyway, if you’re not familiar with print format the top one gets printed on one side and the bottom one gets printed on the other side, and when you fold it the panels show the back, the front, the left inside, and the right inside. I also made the barcode on the back into an animation timing chart since he works in the animation department.
